The Weekend at Grand Stafford Theater

0

Come on down to Grand Stafford Theater to create the soundtrack for your weekend! Here’s what’s coming your way this week:

Thursday, Nov. 4, Rightfield with Hunter Cox

Some of the newest emerging genre-creators are on their way to Bryan. Not quite alternative, rock, hip-hop or pop, the Rightfield duo has created something in between, and tens of thousands of people are streaming it.

Rightfield performs live with Hunter Cox on Nov. 4. Doors open at 7:30 p.m, and music starts at 8:30.

The Rightfield duo’s style comes from Jack Blocker’s ear for folk rock and Reed Hoelscher’s love for 80’s heavy metal. As close friends since kindergarten, the two build off each other’s differences. The result is groundbreaking, and together they sound about as good as maroon and white looks.

Lyrics especially are an artform for Hunter Cox, who specializes in a love for storytelling. Many of his lyrics are inspired directly from personal experiences and often build on each other, taking the listener on a narrative journey. And his instrumentals are far from lacking. Cox’s sound has a folk tone but will surprise you with his twist of rock energy.

Purchase tickets online for $12 or $15 at the door. An additional VIP status for $30 grants a pre-show acoustic set, a Rightfield hat, and a sneak peek of new Rightfield music.

Friday, Nov. 5 Rococo Disco with 13th Hour

Aggieland duo Rococo Disco take it way back with their inspiration, from the ornate and asymmetrical elements seen in 18th century European design and ‘70s disco in both sound and aesthetic. Their vocals demonstrate their range through flairs and dips, creating an energy you can’t turn your back on. Paul Chu and David Soto’s electricity lasts as long as they’re on stage, carrying from song to song, even in the way they talk to the crowd. The duo will have you chanting “one more song” by the end of the evening!

The five members of Thirteenth Hour play various covers and original music ranging from classic rock to pop. With four songs on Spotify, the group is just beginning but is strongly passionate about their music. Together, Noah Beyer, Jake Davis, Kayla Kroeker, Courtney Loth and Josh Wood are influenced by jazz, funk and personal experience, blending it all together to create their sound.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m, and music starts at 8. Purchase $10 premium passes online for access to reserved areas.
