Grand Stafford Theater Lineup: Oct. 31 and Nov. 1

0

Come one, come all to the Grand Stafford Theater on Halloween weekend! They’ve planned a great lineup of local Texas bands, starting with Northern National with The Docs on Oct. 31, followed by The Wicked River Band and Shadow Canyon on First Friday, Nov. 1!

Northern National, an alternative band based in Dallas, will be kicking off festivities with a Halloween night show. They’ve been releasing music since 2016, and they’ve played alongside many big names in the music industry, including Blue October, The Band Perry and Andy Grammer. Their laid-back rock vibe will partner well with College Station-based progressive rock band The Docs, who have been playing together since 2010. These two Texan acts are blazing their own paths on the rock stage and will both be at the Grand Stafford on Thursday for $5 a ticket! Doors open at 8 p.m., and the concert starts at 8:30 p.m.

The Grand Stafford’s free First Friday show will feature another College Station-based progressive rock act: The Wicked River Band! This bluesy-inspired band has been performing together for about ten years. Also taking the stage for First Friday is local country music duo Shadow Canyon, who claim influences from classic 90’s country artists. This combination of fresh sounds and nostalgic influences will produce a memorable concert, and best of all, general admission is free as part of Historic Downtown Bryan’s monthly First Friday! Premium passes and reserved tables can be purchased, and tables will stay reserved the entire evening. As with the previous evening’s show, doors will open at 8 p.m. and the concert itself will start at 8:30 p.m.

The Grand Stafford Theater, much like Historic Downtown as a whole, is rich in history. It was built in the early 1900s and was first a theater, then ninety years later became an opera house, after being closed for the better part of the 80s due to a fire. The theater has hosted a myriad of acts over the years, with some names as big as Robert Earl Keen and Stevie Ray Vaughn.
