Make Grand Memories at the Grand Stafford Theater

2

Let the good times roll this week and next at the Grand Stafford Theater! Emo Night, Fox in the Ground with Guys on a Bus and Emily Orr, and An Evening with BJ Barham are three events you do not want to miss.

Hailed for its 400-person capacity, full-service bar, featuring classic cocktails and mezzanine seating, the 100-year-old theater is located in the heart of Bryan’s Cultural Arts District. Exceptional sound design, technology, professional lighting and acoustics reflect the theater’s redesign to offer the highest in production standards to local and touring performers.

Emo Night

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with the sweetness of nostalgia during Emo Night on Feb. 14 at 8 p.m. Teenage anthems from bands such as My Chemical Romance, Yellowcard, Sum 41 and Taking Back Sunday will be on rotation and accompanied with music videos. The theater’s full-service bar will also be available for guests 21 years and over to enjoy. All ages are welcome to attend and general admission is $5 per person- tickets can be purchased online at the Grand Stafford Theater’s website or when doors open at 8 p.m.

Fox in the Ground with Guys on a Bus and Emily Orr

On Feb. 15, the theater invites you to enjoy the live music of Fox in the Ground with Guys on a Bus and Emily Orr. A music project fronted by singer songwriter Jonathan Richter, Fox in the Ground is a local band whose reunion was conducted by Richter himself in an effort to help him fill out the sound he had in mind for his songs. Guys on a Bus, an indie group that has developed fans and listeners spanning over four generations, will also make an appearance. The group’s four-part harmonies and simple pop/rock choruses provide an animated experience for listeners that is reminiscent of The Beach Boys. Those whose music of choice resembles that of the indie alternative scene will appreciate Emily Orr and her songs about the love, ache and hope of her life. A 22-year-old student at Texas A&M University from Austin, TX, Orr hopes to bring joy, comfort and freedom to listeners’ lives in the same way that many artists’ music has influenced hers. The event is open to all ages and general admission is $5 per person-  tickets can be purchased online at the Grand Stafford Theater’s website or when doors open at 8 p.m. The evening’s music will kick off with Fox in the Ground at 9 p.m.

An Evening with BJ Barham

An Evening with BJ Barham will bring southern rock-n-roll dreams to life on Feb. 20. Lead singer BJ Barham fronts the band American Aquarium, whose seventh studio album, “Things Change,” details the last two years as seen through the eyes of Barham. Serving as the group’s first release on a label, the personal and relatable album is reflective of the nation’s current social climate. The group recently made their television debut on “Last Call” with Carson Daly, in addition to receiving praise from NPR Music, Billboard, Associated Press, American Songwriter and Rolling Stone, who hails the album as an “unabashed rock & roll record- a snapshot of a band and its reinvigorated leader.” Tickets are $15 online and $20 at the door, and all ages are welcome to partake in the Evening with BJ Barham. Doors will open at 7 p.m. and Barham will take the stage at 8 p.m.
