Alpacas and Wine

0

According to www.travelingvineyard.com, wine consumption trends show that women typically choose wine as their alcoholic drink of choice, with about 46% naming wine as their top choice.  In comparison, 55% of men favor beer. Well, at Peach Creek Vineyards in College Station, both men and women can get their wine on with family, friends and…alpacas?

Peach Creek Vineyards has teamed up with Bluebonnet Hills Alpaca Ranch to provide the general public with the chance of a lifetime. If you ever wanted to meet an alpaca, then this is a perfect opportunity for you. Bluebonnet Hills Alpaca Ranch will be bringing some of their alpacas to the winery on Saturday afternoon, March 10, weather permitting. The event will also feature several of the ranch’s alpaca products, alongside a wine tasting (fee applies). Ranch staff  will be answering questions about alpaca ranching, alpaca fiber and why they chose to be alpaca ranchers. The event is kid friendly and offers something for the entire family.

Located just minutes from northwest Houston and Texas A&M in Waller County, Bluebonnet Hills Alpaca Ranch is owned by Laurence and Donna Binder. With the goal of developing a colorful herd, Bluebonnet Hills’ first five animals were purchased in September 1997. Now, 20 years later, they have helped many of the Texas alpaca ranchers establish their ranch and begin their own alpaca ranching business.

As retired educators, the Binders  believe that they have a unique way of assisting new breeders. Your success is their success, and they are proud of the many successful ranchers they have helped get started. Bluebonnet Hills invites both new and established breeders into their community. Call for an appointment or to visit the Binders  and their colorful, huggable herd of sixty five alpacas in the Navasota rolling, tree-shaded hills .

The free alpaca and wine event will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Peach Creek Vineyards in College Station, TX. “Wine not” bring the whole family to engage in fun time, great wine and alpacas. And as always, it does not matter of the glass if half empty or half full, because there will always be more room for wine.
