Ever dream of being a rock star, spending hours playing air guitar in front of your bedroom mirror? Jonathan Larson’s “Rent” follows the stories of those that went from dreaming in their bedroom to performing in front of thousands of exhilarated fans. MSC OPAS is bringing the iconic rock musical to the stage for the 25th Anniversary farewell tour. After winning multiple Tony awards and a Pulitzer, the highly celebrated production has made its mark in Broadway musical history. Catch “Rent” one last time at Rudder Auditorium on Feb. 16 and 17 at 7:30 p.m.

Set in Manhattan’s East Village in the 80s, “Rent” portrays the lives of struggling musicians, filmmakers, philosopher-poets, kinksters, runaways, and junkies struggling to follow their dreams. For 25 years, the musical has been a source of not only inspiration but strength for millions of aspiring artists who have dreams of one day making it onto the big stage. Bringing to life songs like “Seasons of Love ” and “La Vie Boheme,” the show is sure to leave you with catchy tunes stuck in your head for days to come.

Because the musical combines mature themes, strong language, and adult situations, parental discretion is advised.

OPAS has been bringing professional productions of theatre, music, and dance programs to Texas A&M University for 50 years. Watch as the stage comes to life this Wednesday and Thursday as OPAS combines their high standard of entertainment with the heart wrenching story of “Rent.”

Tickets are on sale now at the MSC Box Office and prices range from $26 to $90.
