Time to grab your friends and family and load them in your sleigh for the City of College Station’s Christmas in the Park at Stephen C. Beachy Central Park for some holiday cheer. Despite the weather still being in the high 70’s, December is approaching, which means hot chocolate, Christmas songs, and of course Christmas lights!
Central Park’s light display started back in 1984 when one family donated a few light panels to the city, and since then, it has improved every year to make your holiday season merry and bright. With over one million lights, you and your elves are sure to enjoy every inch of the park!
Lights On, November 25, 6:00 p.m.
You can visit the display from November 25 to January 1 from 6-11 p.m., and the best part is, admission is free! You stroll the park on foot or pile everyone in the car and enjoy the lights with Christmas music provided by Bryan Broadcasting on 97.3FM.
Specifically created as a family-friendly environment, the park will definitely get your kids excited for the holidays. Download this free template to write your letter to Santa, then drop it in the North Pole mailbox outside the Central Park office.
Event Weekend, December 3 & 4, 6-10 p.m.
Want even more holiday cheer? On December 3 and 4 from 6-10 p.m., the park is kicking off the season with even more activities with hayrides, cookies and chocolate milk, actual snow slides, and much more! Both evenings will end with a concert by Texas country artist Reagan Quinn, starting at 9:15 p.m. on Friday night and 9 p.m. on Saturday.
When it comes to live entertainment, there’ll be 17 acts, with appearances from the Aggie Wranglers, Texas A&M Chorale, and CSMS Combined Choirs just to name a few. Pictures with Santa can also be taken that weekend so make sure to take your cameras to capture the magical moment!
