Century Square Cinema: “The Little Mermaid”

0

Enjoy the last bit of summer while you still can! Century Square is hosting the final installment of their Summer Movie Series on Tuesday, Aug. 18 with Disney’s “The Little Mermaid.” The movie starts promptly at 8:45 p.m., but if you’re bringing your own little princess, don’t miss the photo op with Princess Ariel starting at 8:30 p.m.

For those of us who need a refresher on the 1989 adventure animation, “The Little Mermaid” tells the story of a free-spirited mermaid princess, Ariel, who longs to explore the world above the water. With an exciting plot and cheerful musical numbers, “The Little Mermaid” transports the audience into the magical land of Disney. Wondering what precautions Century Square is taking to combat fears of COVID-19 for this event? Upon arrival, visible changes will be noticeable. Separated sections will be indicated by spaced out squares, which are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Masks are encouraged, and remember to keep a six-foot distance from other attendees.

Turn the event into a whole evening of fun by supporting some of the local restaurants and businesses in Century Square. No outside food or beverages will be permitted, but there are a bunch of tasty options in the area that offer to-go selections that will be allowed on The Green. For indulgent burgers, fries, and milkshakes, stop into Hopdoddy Burger Bar. Pizza lovers can customize their own personal creation at Blaze Pizza, and those of us with a sweet tooth can indulge in delectable crêpes from Sweet Paris Crêperie & Café. A full list of shopping and dining experiences in Century Square can be found here.

If a movie night on The Green isn’t right up your alley, Century Square has a lot of upcoming events you can participate in while also being socially distant. Some of these fun events include Grooves on The Green and Trivia on The Green. Century Square is always adding fun community affairs, so check back on their Events page for a complete list of updated events!
