Fun And Music At Century Square

0

As fall weather approaches, what better time to enjoy some outdoor activities at charming Century Square? They have a host of special events lined up for the public to enjoy this weekend, including the brand new rustic music series The Front Porch, inspirational concert Sunday Night Live and the interactive Trivia on the Green!

Starting off the weekend fun is Trivia on the Green! This quizzical event will be happening every Thursday from 7-9 p.m. Show off your random knowledge, learn something new and compete for prizes — you can even grab a snack at one of Century Square’s restaurants first.

But don’t leave right after trivia! Thursday night also kicks off Century Square’s fall music series The Front Porch, which nods homage to beloved musical Aggies Robert Earl Keen and Lyle Lovett, who met when Keen played his music on his front porch. Century Square has even brought out the rocking chairs and string lights to make guests feel like they’re enjoying the evening on an actual, cozy front porch! The Front Porch runs all weekend with local artists and different themes per night: Thursday is Open Mic night to showcase a variety of different artists, Friday is Song Swap night where multiple musicians perform each other’s songs, and Saturday will feature a solo performance from just one musical artist. All three concerts start at 8 p.m. Can’t make it this time? Don’t fret! The Front Porch will take place every weekend throughout the fall, weather permitting.

Round out the jam-filled weekend on Sunday, Sept. 6 with Sunday Night Live, a recurring event focusing on inspirational sounds. With all the uplifting tunes from talented artists, Sunday Night Live is bound to be a great way to start the week. This concert series starts at 6 p.m. and continues until 8 p.m.

Century Square has various precautions in place to protect against COVID-19. The Green has been spaced out to ensure appropriate social distancing between parties, and Century Square asks that anyone feeling ill not attend any events. While not required, masks or facial coverings are strongly encouraged. Socially distanced spaces will be first come, first served, so be sure to arrive a little early in order to secure a spot!
