App Review: Sofa-Downtime Organizer

0

Even those who love to organize can end up with online clutter. With movies and books and music being largely online now, it’s easy to mix up or lose track of your wishlists, favorites and watched lists. When it comes to your leisure time, Sofa-Downtime Organizer removes the chaos.

Organize all your favorite movies, shows, and podcasts like you would organize a bookshelf. The app transfers the physical format onto your phone. Sofa even provides a “pile” section for titles you want to remember but aren’t ready to categorize, like the sofa you put clean laundry on before you’re ready to put it away.

The app also organizes your wishlist, including apps, books, games, movies, shows, podcasts, and albums. With information and photos already associated with each entry, the app sorts your wishlist in ways a generic notes app or paper could not. As you use the app, mark content off your wishlist and add to your favorites.

The designer and developer Shawn Hickman separates this app from a faceless corporation. With a 4.7 star rating on the Apple Appstore, suggestions are often addressed in updates, so the app is tailored to users’ preferences. You can customize your app with a theme and other upgrades with “Super Sofa,” which costs about $35 per year.

For those who love things to be in order but haven’t yet tackled online organization, you now have a way to catalog your entertainment without any bother. No chore, just fun!

She spends her summers working various jobs including at a candy shop, Dallas Morning News, and Pine Cove City most recently. Much of her free time is spent in coffee shops, libraries and parks to study, though she also loves creating and enjoying a cozy space at home.
