Whiskey Tasting at the Urban Table

0

Interested in learning about whiskey, looking for a father’s day gift, or maybe just an evening out? Urban Table to the rescue! On Thursday, June 17, Urban Table is hosting a whiskey tasting where guests will have the chance to sample various whiskeys as they enjoy hors d’oeuvres made by the restaurant.

Urban Table’s High West and Belle Meade Whiskey Tasting will feature four different whiskeys, each paired with a specific hors d’oeuvre. The tasting starts at 6:30 p.m., with tickets available online for $47. While tasting the drinks, attendees will also be able to learn about the whiskeys and their distinctive differences.

“Anyone that wants to learn more about whiskey would definitely enjoy [the event],” says Brant Jensen, representative of the Urban Table Hospitality Team. Jensen explains that Urban Table’s Whiskey Tasting will feature two whiskeys from High West and two Belle Meade bourbons. Each will be matched with a small bite that has whiskey incorporated into its preparation. The whiskey will be served “neat and dry” for the tasting, however, there will be an opportunity to get cocktails made using the spirits featured.

“We’ll have a representative from our distributor here to walk guests through each whiskey and the flavors that they will be looking for,” Jensen says. This way tasters can understand how to find subtle flavors in whiskeys and what types of whiskey might be more appealing to them. And at the end of the night, there will be a raffle with goodies from the featured distilleries.

On top of walking through these different spirits, the event will also include live music from Joey McGee, a singer-songwriter of roots music. He has lived in New Orleans, San Antonio and Pittsburgh before landing here in Bryan. When McGee says he’s a “roots musician,”  he means more than just the Americana genre. McGee puts his personal roots and experiences from where he’s been into his music, making for songs that are personal and feel honest. What better way to compliment a few drinks?

“At the end of the night,” Jensen says, “It’s a great chance to learn more about whiskey, relax, and enjoy our lovely ambiance.”

Bethany,

Thanks for reaching out, we’re ecstatic to be featured in your article!

Our Whiskey Tasting event isn’t catered towards fathers or men specifically. Anyone that wants to learn more about whiskey would definitely enjoy it.

We’ll be featuring 4 different whiskeys that are paired with small bites. These small bites all incorporate whiskey into their preparation and will be matched to a whiskey we’re featuring. All whiskey will be served neat and dry, but there will be an opportunity to purchase cocktails made with the spirits featured. We’ll have a representative from our distributor here to walk guests through each whiskey and the flavors that they will be looking for. At the end of the night, we’ll have a raffle with some goodies from each distillery and live music from Joey McGee. It’s a great chance to learn more about whiskey, relax, and enjoy our lovely ambiance.

If you have any other questions feel free to reach out!

Thank you so much,

Brant
