We’re all going a little stir crazy at this point, but that’s no reason not to participate in continuing to build community. One of our most loved BCS community traditions, Downtown Bryan’s First Friday celebrations, for the second month in a row will move to a digital format while restrictions are still in place to slow the spread of COVID-19.
April’s First Friday featured a morning history lesson at the Carnegie History Center, a lunchtime tour of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church with live organ music, a cooking demonstration at Ronin Farm and Restaurant and much, much more. May’s First Friday will be sure to enthrall, with virtual attendees able to visit local businesses’ Facebook pages to see merchandise, cooking displays and other forms of entertainment.
Most businesses are still planning for the May event and working out the details, but you won’t want to miss out on the fun! Many of the restaurants will be preparing pick up meals, and the full list of places, their hours and their special offerings available can be found here: https://bit.ly/2VnhRET. There’s sure to be a few more videos posted on Facebook pages as well as special sales and maybe even a concert or two. The Village Café plans to upload photos of its artwork for sale to its website and will most likely stream another evening concert on its Facebook page.
