The holiday season is about spending time with family, friends, and loved ones, so what better way to do so than taking in local theatre productions of two holiday classics? From Thursday, Dec. 2 to Sunday, Dec. 19, The Theatre Company will present “Elf, The Musical,” and from Thursday, Dec. 9 to Saturday, Dec. 18, StageCenter Theatre will present “A Christmas Carol: A Live Radio Play.”
“Elf, The Musical” Dec. 2 – Dec. 19
Based on the classic holiday film, this sure-to-make-you-laugh comedy follows Buddy the Elf as he goes off on his first journey beyond the North Pole. Realizing he doesn’t quite fit in with the rest of the elves, Buddy goes to New York as he struggles to find his true identity.
The opening night show on Dec. 2 is sold out, but you can still buy tickets for the Friday and Saturday 7 p.m. showtimes and 2 p.m. Saturday matinee performances from Dec 3-19.
Tickets are on sale now on The Theatre Company’s website. Prices range from $10-$20, so act fast before they sell out!
“A Christmas Carol: A Live Radio Play” Dec. 9 – Dec. 18
Watch the story of Ebenezer Scrooge unfold as the three ghosts make their visits, teaching him the true meaning of Christmas, but with a twist. Reimagined as a 1940s radio broadcast, the production will include vintage commercials and live sound effects that take you back to the 40s, adding an extra layer of gratitude for what we have and making sure no one leaves in a Scrooge mood.
Catch one of the shows on December 9-11, 16-18 at 7:30 p.m. or a special matinee performance Sunday, Dec. 12 at 2 p.m.
Tickets are available for purchase on StageCenter Theatre’s website. Prices range from $10 to $15.
Celebrate the magic of the holidays with loved ones while also supporting local theatre as they strive to provide the best possible experience for the Brazos Valley!
