Last night of Starlight Music Series, featuring Lil’ Nate, guests Mi’chel Rose, On Another Note

The food trucks, stargazing, and free live music return this Saturday for the last time as part of this year’s Starlight Music Series. This week, Lil’ Nate will perform behind the Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater moat, with guests Mi’chel Rose and On Another Note.

Nathan “Lil’ Nate” Williams Jr. comes from a family of musicians, practically growing up on the stages his successful father (Nathan Williams Sr.) performed on as a zydeco musician. He even played the rubboard in his father’s band as a child. With time, he learned the drums and accordion, then started his own zydeco band as he follows his father’s example. The result is a talented artist with a genuine passion for what he plays.

If you’ve never heard of zydeco music, today’s your lucky day. Unique to Louisiana, this unique southern music is a blend of Louisiana French Accordion and Afro-Caribbean beats. The word “zydeco” roughly translates to a Creole idiom meaning “these times are hard,” making it similar to the blues as a comfort in poor circumstances.

Starlight has one more powerful voice for the night. Texas-native Mi’chel Rose’s soulful sound and high energy will lift your spirits as the sun goes down. As another artist with a young start, Rose began recording at 12 years old. She drew inspiration from stars Tina Turner, Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson.

These artists will touch your heart and bring the hype for this family-friendly party. Celebrate warm summer air, good music, and even better people at the last event in this summer series.
