From the sunset of a summer evening to a starry night sky, the Aggie’s Back to School Bash hopes to keep you dancing and enjoying this jam-packed concert all evening long. To keep you entertained are four Texas-based artists: Austin-based Parker McCollum, Dallas-based Deryl Dodd, Houston native Jesse Raub Jr. and Back to School Bash regular and host, country artist Cody Johnson!
Since the first-ever Aggie’s Back to School Bash in 2015, Johnson has donned his cowboy hat and strummed his guitar alongside his four bandmates, making a name for themselves. With seven albums released total, Johnson has earned three awards since 2011 starting with the Texas Regional Radio Report’s New Male Vocalist Of The Year and won their Male Vocalist and Entertainer of the Year in 2014. As a Huntsville native, Johnson calls Texas home. He takes his inspiration from a ‘90s country foundation and a 21st century sound inspired by 20th-century class country artists like George Strait and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Johnson’s high-spirited concerts have been compared to country artist Garth Brooks.
This Bash will certainly deliver with the likes of Johnson and friends! All are fellow Texans who are no strangers to country music or BCS, as nothing less is expected for any Aggie Bash! With McCollum’s John Mayer-inspired, soul-bearing songs, Dodd’s Texas-grounded sound, and Raub Jr.’s southern rock-infused Texas country music, there’s no question that the Aggie spirit will burn brighter than ever at this year’s Aggie’s Back to School Bash!
So put on those boots and head on over to make your last weekend before school the most memorable one yet! The Aggie’s Back to School Bash will take place on Saturday, August 24. Doors open at the Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater at 5:00 p.m. and the show runs from 5:30 to 11 p.m. Tickets are $30 per person and VIP tickets are $100.
