“Britcoms” And More, Now Streaming On The Library App

0

It’s not news that many folks are spending a bit more time indoors this summer, and after all this time, entertainment options can get sparse. Not to worry, though, especially if you’re an Anglophile, because the BCS library system’s digital streaming partner app, RBdigital, has you covered!

One of the app’s entertainment channels is Acorn TV, which features British TV and movies, including Britcoms — British comedies. Among the choices, you’ll find: “All in Good Faith” starring Richard Briers (“The Good Life”), “The Worst Week of My Life” with Ben Miller (“Death in Paradise”), “Doc Martin” starring Martin Clunes (“Shakespeare in Love”), and “Parents” with Sally Phillips (“Bridget Jones’s Diary”) and Tom Conti (“DNA”).

Other categories available include drama, mystery, thrillers, period dramas, documentaries and even foreign language films. Acorn TV also produces some original content, so there’s plenty to choose from!

RBdigital can be downloaded from the App Store, Google Play Store, and even on the Kindle Fire store, and users create an account with their local library card. Then all that’s left to do is choose your content! Since the BCS Library’s partnership with the app is fairly recent, this initial rollout grants users a 7-day pass to the entertainment channel of their choice, and when the 7 days are over, it’s a simple matter of renewing for another 7 days. Plus, one of the perks to the digital format is that more than one person can have the same content, providing less waiting and more on-demand entertainment!

In addition to Acorn TV and their other entertainment options, RBdigital also has educational content, such as ACT and SAT prep, health and wellness videos and access to The Great Courses. Check it all out at your BCS library!
