If you’re in need of some enjoyable weekend plans with the family that still involve social distancing, come out to the Summer Sounds acoustic concert series at Lake Walk. Enjoy the talents of local musicians every Friday through July 17 at the beautiful Lake Walk Pavillion from 7:30-9:00 p.m.
Event Director Kate Chapman says the concert series is designed to celebrate summer with the company of family/friends, food and some live music. “It’s a fun, family-friendly event, and each Friday will feature a different acoustic artist,” Chapman says.
This Friday’s performing artist is Jacob Ryan Marshall. Marshall’s love for music was apparent from early on—at age 3 he started playing the guitar and was writing his own songs by age 15. Marshall’s performance venues include numerous festivals such as Texas Reds and Bayou City Arts Festival as well as the Houston LIvestock Show. Classic country and bluegrass music inspired Marshall’s sound, which developed into Texas Red Dirt music with a throwback to classic country. Marshall is currently recording his first album.
Concert goers are encouraged to bring their own blankets, food, and drinks to gather for a nice, relaxing evening of live tunes in a peaceful outdoor setting. “They can also check out Campfire Restaurant and The Stella Hotel for dine-in or take-out options,” Chapman says.
Attendees are highly encouraged to social distance at the event in order to provide a safe, healthy outdoor environment for everyone, Chapman added.
The event is free and will be open to the public. Visit the Summer Sounds Facebook page for more information!
