Choro Das Tres is not your typical band. In 2002, three sisters and their father started the group based on their interest in Altamiro Carrilho, a Brazilian musician and composer. Their main focus is instrumental, therefore most of their songs are nonverbal. Corina is on flute, Lia on 7 strings guitar, Elisa on the mandolin, and their father Eduardo is plays the tambourine.

In 2003, they won the 1st Adoniran Barbosa Music Festival, a contest among every school in the Brazilian state of São Paulo. Five years later, in 2008, Choro das Tres recorded their first album in their own studio titled Meu Brasil Brasileiro. Their albums always include duets with other great Brazilian musicians. In 2012, Choro das Tres released an album called Escorregando with the record label Macole. With this album, they became internationally known.

Their genre is called Choro, which originated in Brazil, specifically Rio de Janeiro, in the 19th century. Choro is Portuguese for cry or lament, and, despite its name, it has a very upbeat rhythm. Choro came the first characteristically Brazilian genre of urban popular music.

This music has a way of relaxing while also keeping the mood up. Enjoying it live would give you the full experience, while also musically transporting you to another country. The truly amazing sound of each instrument brings out the historical significance that this genre holds, as well as the family unity this group has.
