With spring fast approaching, families are eager to find an engaging, family-oriented way to celebrate Easter. What better way to spend Easter day than surrounded by the ones you love, fun outdoor games and activities, and of course, the Easter Bunny?
On April 8, the George Bush Library will be hosting the annual College Station Easter Egg Hunt. This Easter Celebration is a long-standing tradition that has been held since 1982. Typically hosted by the Police Department, the Easter Celebration has evolved into one of the biggest events of the season, modeled after the famous annual White House Easter Egg Roll.
This family fun event will include activities for children of all ages such as games, face painting, an Easter egg hunt, egg roll, egg toss, snacks and refreshments, as well as the chance to take photos with the Easter Bunny. Children will also be able to receive their own White House-style Easter Egg to remember the occasion.
The Easter Celebration will last from 9:30am to noon. Games, grab bags, and refreshments will be available at 9:30am, and the Easter Bunny will arrive at 9:50am. The egg hunt will begin at 10:00am, and the kite flying contest will take place an hour later at 11:00am. Awards for the kite flying will be given to the highest flyer, the most artistic flyer, the fan favorite flyer, and the judge’s choice. The Easter Bunny will be taking pictures at 10:10am. which is also when door prize giveaways will commence. Children must be present on stage to win their prize.
While the event is entirely free, parents must register their children to be able to participate in a chance to win giveaway prizes from local merchants. Children will have the chance to win a boy’s and a girl’s helmet and bicycle in three different age categories: 3 and under, ages 4-5, and ages 6-7. Registration can be emailed to email@example.com. There will also be a chance for late registration at the event from 9-9:50 a.m.
Enjoy the Texas spring and some family and friend time at the George Bush Library!
