Go, Mr. President!! Forgive Me, I Just Choked.

Taliban taunts Obama over nighttime Afghan visit.

The Taliban mocked Obama on their webpage after the President arrived by helicopter during the middle of the night in the heavily fortified presidential palace to meet his counterpart, Hamid Karzai. After a one-to-one meeting with Karzai that lasted less than half an hour, Obama was flown to Bagram where he spoke to U.S. troops, ending the trip.

The Taliban’s response to the President’s actions were nothing short of heartening: “By making a six-hour unannounced trip to Afghanistan …Obama proved that his military strategy and surge of 30,000 troops, his morale-boosting propaganda, have all failed to make a dent.” Well, don’t know about you, but that just makes me feel all warm inside.

Corporations respond to Obamacare.

While Obama continues to try and sell his healthcare overhaul to a skeptical public, calling it a victory over special interests that will help the middle class and defending the “courage” of legislators who backed it, America’s corporate giants are realizing the truth: we cannot insure 32 million more people without raising costs, and anyone who thinks differently needs a psychiatric evaluation. AT&T stated that the health care program is going to cost them $1 billion dollars in expenses the first quarter. AK Steel Corp. ($31M), Caterpillar ($100M), John Deere ($150M), 3M ($90M), Valero Energy and others have all stated that it will cost their companies millions of dollars.

Now, all the sheeple out there, wake up and answer me this: what affect will this have on job creation? I will tell you. Not only will companies not be opening their doors to new hires, companies will be forced to raise prices to pay for the additional expense, which raises the cost of living for all Americans who purchase their products and services.

Obamacare still sound like a good idea? Really?

If you are still uncertain, did I forget to mention that the legislation President Obama declared “is going to be affecting every American family” does NOT affect him? That’s right. The fabulous new health care law exempts the president, the House and Senate from having to participate in it. If this “historic” health care law is so freakin’ fantastic for America, don’t you think it should be good enough for the president and Congress?

So how is our President responding to all of this?

Obama recently said in an interview on NBC that he would not be dissuaded from taking on new economic challenges after his healthcare reform victory (yes, victory; he actually called it a victory! For whom, Mr. President?); he went on to say that despite the prospect for continued Republican opposition, “I will continually reach out to Republicans. I will continue to incorporate their ideas, even when they don’t vote for the ideas that I’ve presented.”

May God bless us and have mercy on this country—oops…sorry, can’t say God. That’s un-American, or unconstitutional, or whatever they claim it to be. Yeah, heaven forbid, I wouldn’t want to offend anyone.
