Texas Music Unplugged

Every once in a while a band comes along that just clicks with everyone it seems, and when that happens it often takes the world by storm. As a long time fan of one such band I was glad to see the Randy Rogers Band on the calendar for this week. I’ve watched them grow from playing small dancehalls in one horse towns to playing sold out concerts in some of the nation’s largest cities. The Randy Rogers Band is no longer Texas’ best kept secret. This group of guys is on top of the world right now and don’t appear to be coming down any time soon. They have built a solid reputation by putting on an awesome show night after night, not only here in Texas but on the national scene as well. That’s what it takes to make it in this business and the Randy Rogers Band has had that figured out since day one. The music is second to none, the song writing is true, raw and real, not fabricated in a shop somewhere to appeal to a demographic. The songs you hear at a Randy Rogers Band concert were cut in the real world, and have been introducing people to good music across the nation for years now. They are given the opportunity to play for so many new fans because of the foundation they first set here in Texas. There is no Randy Rogers Band with out Texas Music and they don’t try to pretend otherwise, remaining uncommonly humble throughout their rise to stardom. I can’t say enough about a band that hits it big and still has the grit to, above all, remain true to themselves along the way. From the dusty dancehalls of the Texas Hill Country to the lights of Opryland and late night television it has been a wild ride for these guys and I can honestly say that no one deserves it more. They have been putting in the work for years now with all of us, right here in Texas. This is your band, they are here for you. To the Randy Rogers Band nothing tops playing right here in the great state of Texas, for the people who have been there since the beginning. We owe it to them to show up, they owe it to us to put on a great show, and as it seems some things never change. The Randy Rogers Band may be growing but don’t expect them to change who they are for anyone in Nashville. In case you didn’t know already, you can catch The Randy Rogers Band right here in Aggieland at Hurricane Harry’s on the 10th of February.
