Often times, when people hear that a movie is an indie film, they’ll assume it’s artsy, shrouded with obscurities, and probably pretty boring. For all those who are prone to judge, there are terrible indie films in the same way that there are awful Hollywood films, and Moon is an exception to the generalization. It’s accessible and entertaining, macabre and inspiring.

Moon is a clever, intricate film that can’t be done justice in these few lines. It is set in a future where we mine the moon for clean energy, and the plot mainly deals with the main character’s personal crisis toward the end of a three year contract operating a mining station. The acting is really stunning, as is the film overall. This 2009 British independent film won a number of prestigious awards, and rightly so.
